A Bar Above

Shelby helped us with some articles that required quite a bit of research in a fairly niche topic. Not only did she tackle it head on, but she was able to find the answers we needed and turn it into a great, compelling blog post!

Content Marketing • SEO Writing

Concept: Created a series of educational, ghost-written articles about SEO-generated topics in the craft cocktail industry.

A Rainbow of Cocktails

The biggest challenge with ghost writing (unsurprisingly) is capturing the voice of the client. Julia is no exception. She has a strong relationship with her community, so it was crucial to uphold her authenticity. I welcomed more humor and excitement into my writing to convey her personality and worked with her side-by-side to create fun and engaging infographics for her audience.

Mocktails 101

We focused on non-alcoholic content to take advantage of a blind spot in SEO. A Bar Above specializes in bartending education, so it was important to write about mocktails with the same sophistication and rapport as any other craft cocktail. I had to thoroughly research the world of mixology considering my bartending knowledge doesn’t extend much beyond a short-lived gig in college. The research paid off, considering I can now make a mean margarita (but that’s about it).

Bitters & Alcohol

Non-alcoholic bitters: who knew you would be a sleeping SEO beast. There’s virtually zero content about non-alcoholic bitters on the web, so this blog landed a coveted second place ranking on Google. Bitters are distilled in alcohol so true non-alcoholic bitters are hard to find. I dusted off my old journalist cap and contacted brands like Fee Brother’s and Scrappy Bitters to set the record straight. And that’s how the first non-alcoholic bitters guide ever (at least on Google) was born.
